The examination of the colon is performed using state of the art computer
CT Scanners using the lowest possible dose (0,8-1,6 mSv). It is contact-
as well as painless.
Immediately preceding the examination about 1,5 liters of CO2 are inserted
into the rectum. During the examination you lie still and relaxed for
about 20 seconds - first on your stomach, then on your back.
Please follow the assistant's request when you are told to hold your breath twice for about 20 seconds.
There is no need for an in-patient admission, pain-relievers or sedatives.
