Examination methods that enable the detection of early stage cancer are a blessing. This is widely agreed upon. Yet many patients are anxious about preventive check-ups. To them the colonoscopy is too labor-intensive, too unpleasant and often too painful. For whom a colonoscopy is advisable?

- for men and women over the age of 50

- if there is intestinal cancer in the family

When is a reinvestigation advisable?

- in a 5 years interval if no polyps are detected
- every 2-3 years in families with intestinal cancer and after polypectomie
