He has teaching assignments as a Professor for Surgery and is a seminar leader for the Professional Association of German Surgeons.

He is a member of the Regional Medical Association, serving on the Committee of Further Education and Quality Control.

Furthermore he holds memberships for the German Surgery Association, the German Visceral Association and the Convention of leading hospital physicians.
